Peer Review
Manuscripts submitted to Western Nigeria Journal of Medical Sciences undergo double blind peer review process as follows:
- Submitted manuscript evaluated by editorial secretary for compliance with author’s guidelines
- Manuscript assigned to an editor for processing
- Editor carries out plagiarism check using Turnitin
- Editor assigns at least two external reviewers using a double-blind model on Open Journal System
- Reviewers perform online double-blind reviews and make recommendations
- Reviews assessed by editor and editorial decisions taken
- Where necessary, second or additional rounds of review initiated as recommended by reviewers
- Final decision taken by editor-in-chief based on recommendation of the editor
